ASH WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22ND.
Using ashes as a sign of repentance is an ancient practice, often mentioned in the Bible (Jonah 3:5-9; Job 42:6; Jeremiah 6:26; Matthew 11:21). We use them as a symbol of our need to repent, confess our sins, and return to God.
Simple Congregational Supper 6:00 p.m.
Worship with ashes and Communion 7:00 p.m.
The sanctuary will be open for private prayer and reflection between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.
Pastor will be present at that time for the imposition of ashes (if you are unable to attend in the evening).
ECUMENICAL WEDNESDAYS IN LENT WITH ALL SAINTS' EPISCOPAL CHURCH
FEBRUARY 29TH, MARCH 7TH, 14TH, 21ST, 28TH.
This Lent we will share our traditional gatherings with our friends from All Saints' Episcopal in Whitman, and any other guests and friends you would like to invite. Terry and David Raymond will lead us in song and the pastors will lead the time of prayer and reflection.
This year we will focus on "Give Us This Day: Lenten Reflections on Baking Bread and Discipleship" by Christopher Levan. We will do some baking to accompany our soup suppers. Mark your calendars and set aside this time to explore the connection between making bread and making a life of discipleship.

LUNCH AND BIBLE STUDY meets most Wednesday's at noon, sharing scripture, conversation, and lunch. We will finish our reflection on light and darkness in the bible, and will choose a new study for lent. Coffee is always on and friends are always welcome. We will meet on February 8th, 15th, and 22nd, and 29th. We will not meet on March 7th. Bring your questions, your bible (or use one of ours), and your lunch.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
The children of our Sunday School told the story of Jesus' birth in a wonderful Christmas pageant on December 18th. This month we will continue to follow the story on Sunday mornings, learning about the visit of the magi, the childhood of Jesus and the baptism of our Lord. Sunday School is for all children, preschool through grade 6. Join us each week at 9:15. a.m. Friends are always welcome.
KID'S NIGHT
Kids' Night meets on the first Wednesday of most months. We share songs, stories, service projects and crafts. Children of all ages are welcome. On February we learned about the feeding the hungry and prepared soup and placemats for Souperbowl Sunday. On March 7th we will explore the signs and symbols of lent. Friends and family are always welcome.
